By Ryan Gabrielson, Tribune June 28, 2005 Scottsdale officials and Barrett-Jackson Classic Car Auction executives have given themselves three months to hammer out a long-term deal that will keep the city’s most lucrative event at WestWorld. In a joint statement, Craig Jackson, auction president, and City Manager Jan Dolan announced that they had set a "framework" for negotiations. "We agreed on a process, negotiating teams and a time frame, with the goal of reaching an acceptable agreement within three months," the news release states. Thursday, Jackson issued Scottsdale an ultimatum: Begin serious negotiations on a list of improvements to WestWorld, or face losing the auction. Dolan and Jackson met Monday.
